Top 30 Most Corrupt Countries

A Less Than Desirable Top 30 Country List – The Most Corrupt Countries

The World Economic Forum on Tuesday released its annual corruption index as part of its “Global Competitiveness Report.” Based on a set of criteria and measurement tools, (see below) the WEF assessed some 140 Countries determining the level of corruption within their society on a scale of one to 100.

A score of 100 means a country is without corruption, while zero is the most corrupt possible. All the countries featured on this list scored 30 or less.

Perhaps as no real surprise African countries are strongly featured along with some South American nations at the most corrupt end of the list. Two notable countries that top the most corrupt nations list are Iran and the Ukraine. They share that dubious distinction with Sierra Leone and The Gambia. Russia comes in at equal 29th placing them equal on the list with Mexico, Laos, Kyrgyzstan and others.

As for Australia, we came in at 17th on the list and our good friends and neighbour New Zealand came in at number 1 – The Least Corruption Country.
